UNDER THE SPELL OF PIKISAARI

What did Pikisaari smell like when tar kettles were bubbling and fresh timber was being carved in the shipyards? What was it like to chug along by boat from one rapid to the next, or to scurry along Sontatie in wintertime? What else was made and crafted there? 

Pikisaari still echoes with the past: illicit distilling has given way to milder refreshments, and weaving cloth has evolved into producing urban culture. Many artists have also found Pikisaari to be an inspiring place to live, so we may even drop by a workshop along the way.
