Oulusa koulusa – Commemorative Book on the 50 Years of Comprehensive Education in Oulu 

In August 1974, a majority of today’s Oulu joined comprehensive education. The Oulusa koulusa Commemorative Book is not a traditional historical work, but it offers new perspectives on past events by discussing both the food of the body and soul, as well as the school facilities. The Commemorative Book rouses memories and reminds us how the transfer into comprehensive education was taken very seriously and how it was implemented with such care. The five decades of comprehensive education 1974–2024 have been making the futures and opportunities of Oulu’s students possible.
