Architecture in Oulu 2023–2025 

During Oulu’s European Capital of Culture year 2026, multidisciplinary events in culture and arts will offer unique experiences. Architecture in Oulu 2023–2025 Yearbook takes up this theme by presenting building projects completed between 2023 and 2025, whose architecture opens up experiences that enrich our perception of the environment in various ways. With this theme in mind, the publication includes a wide range of projects from across the entire field of construction. Architects were also asked to propose projects that they themselves considered particularly significant.
Experientiality is conveyed through the projects in different ways: as the realized imprint of dreams in one’s own home, as the play of windows across soaring façades, or as the arch of a bridge that brings movement vividly to life. The restored and highlighted history of a building, the experience of nature unfolding from the rain shelter of a forest path, and the boundary between life and death all emerge on the pages of the book in many different tones.
The book presents more than 50 projects, including several detached houses, the Vaakunakylä parking structure, and Hartaansilta Bridge. 138 pages.
